I know some MRT stations strive to be all futuristic & sleek & shiny (check out Promenade station's gargantuan disco ball god-knows-what). And I'm not totally hating it.
But sometimes... just sometimes ... the minimalistic glossy chrome of Apple-ish-tic design can get just a wee bit stale. As if sleek curves & shiny grey is the epitome of defining what is intensely modern & eternally sophisticated.
Sometimes, I wish we could have busstops & mrt stations that looked more like this:
Utterly fantastic busstops from Soviet Russia. Photos by Polarinertia.
Please give me a Soviet busstop for my birthday please.
