Are We All Not Fools

I don't think there was ever a tale more morosely depressing and sad as Robin Hobb's Farseer hexalogy.

Every page is drenched in despair. Every chapter rushes headlong into inexorable heart ache. If sorrow could be condensed, this book will weep an ocean of loneliness.

But for the life of me, I cannot put this book down.
Can't tear my eyes from reading the ensuing anguish.
I must be addicted to reading misery.

And I suspect, (with the series's bestsellers title) a lot of us are.
