If I were the guy at the counter, I'd be soiling my pants in liquefied fear right about now.
Technology goes out of date so fast these days that when I look at my shiny white iMac from 2006, I feel positively ancient for it. 2006, 2-0-0-6 ! That's the year Casino Royal came out. That's the year Final Fantasy 12 was released. And for some reason, 2006 feels like 4 years ago when it's actually almost EIGHT. I booted up the com (which I haven't touched for 4 years) and found out unsurprisingly that every programme on the desktop was out of date. Ok, cool. I can deal with that. Just go to the websites and download the latest versions right? I'm not talking Photoshop CS6/CC which requires everything and your liver before it deigns to install. But now the latest Firefox and Safari requires OS10.5 and above to install. The grandad version (2008 one) that I use is no longer supported on my OS10.4.8.
Ok keep calm, I thought to myself, where was that free copy of Snow Leopard that Apple gave you with the Macbook Pro? Aha! I poured the pile of dust off the CD and proceeded to install 10.6 onto the com. Except---------------- Deng Deng Deng Deeeeeng--------------- It required my mac to be on 10.5 first! And short of spending money on an OS10.5, which makes absolutely no sense because OS10.7 is the newfangled boy-toy of the town, I won't even be able to access my mail properly. It pains me so badly, but the iMac that I had once thought was the pride of the study room and a status of incomparable tech-savviness and class is now a fossilized animal. An animal called Mac OS10.4 Tiger.
It feels strangely cold today. I'm not one to break out the jacket game, but I had to in fear of freezing my shoulders off in the 25° office. Actually, I think it's my heart, breaking into a million billion pieces and flying off in all directions and pelting those unfortunate enough to be sitting in the vicinity.
It's really sad to see you guys go. Farewell farewell. I bid you guys a million billion farewells from the pieces of my heart that's now scattered around the office. The cleaning lady will come monday and sweep up the bits, then, maybe then I'll feel less sad.
What I detest about women's clothings?
1) Not enough pockets.
2) When there are, pockets are so small as to be non-existent.
.
.
.
3) FAKE POCKETS.
Why why why why why???? Don't sew those useless flaps of extra cloth on and call them 'pockets'. All they do is lead you to a black hole of deception and despair. Clothes aren't getting any cheaper and when I pay $25 for a pair of jeans online, I don't want to recieve the thing and discover those pockets aren't pockets. You don't find this nonsense on men's clothes. It's terribly vexing - like the fashion industry big wigs suddenly thought:
"You know what women can't handle on their clothes? Pockets! That's what! Let's remove them all Bwahahaahahah! Tell the sweatshops in insert country here to start making something more useful with the cloth we've saved - Like beanies with extra flappy ears!"
"But, if we remove all the pockets..." stammers some low-level executive, "The fashion designers will throw a fit. You've removed a crucial motif for jeans and a thousand other practical clothes!"
"Bah! Just leave the pocket design on and remove the pockets, that way we can be totally evil in addition to making women buy more handbags to store their useless crap. Like wallets & handphones. Who needs pockets for that?"
No. Just no. Real pockets *weeps* please come back!
